One of the most popular singers of the 2000s will be the marquee artist at the Hope Watermelon festival in 2022.
Uncle Kracker, a hitmaker who crosses genres, will headline the concert at the 46th Annual Hope Watermelon Festival on Saturday, August 13, at 8:30 p.m.
This concert will be held at Hope Fair Park on the CMC Stage. Doors open at 6 p.m.
The Michigan singer, songwriter, and performer, also known as Matthew Shafer, began a solo career in 2008 after skyrocketing to stardom as Kid Rock's chief collaborator and charismatic presence in Twisted Brown Trucker Band.
Following the success of his 2000 major-label debut, “Double Wide,” he had the number-one smash hit “Follow Me.”
In 2002, the group's follow-up, "No Stranger To Shame," reached gold status and produced hits such as "In A Little While" and the powerful cover of Dobie Gray's "Drift Away," a song that set an Adult Contemporary radio chart record by topping the chart for 28 consecutive weeks.
Uncle Kracker, formerly of Kid Rock, may have seemed an odd place for the Detroit-based good time Kid Rock alumni to appear before his #1 hit "When the Sun Goes Down," which he recorded with good friend Kenny Chesney.
With his double-platinum crossover hit “Smile,” Uncle Kracker reached the Top 10 in Country Music.
He then embraced his "country" side in 2012 with his critically acclaimed fifth album, "Midnight Special," produced by Keith Stegall, which confirms that this feel-good rocker deserves to be where he is.
From the American Country Music Awards to all the top late-night talk shows, Uncle Kracker has performed across the country to sold-out audiences.
At the Hope Watermelon Festival, he will no doubt have a blast, as will his fans in southwest Arkansas.
Ticket prices for the concert start at $20 for adults and will rise to $25 on the day of the show. Tickets for children will be $10 on the day of the show. Tickets for reserved seating will cost $40.
