Texarkana, Texas and Bowie County will vote on several state initiatives on Tuesday, Nov. 5, with a state income tax vote and a local property tax increase on the table.
The most high profile state issue on the ballot is a provision that seeks a public endorsement of a provision to add an amendment to the state's constitution banning the state of Texas from imposing a state income tax on individuals.

What's on the ballot?
Proposition 1 (Municipal) Allows persons to serve as more than one appointed or elected municipal judge
Proposition 2 (Bonds)
Allows the Texas Water Development Board to issue up to $200 million in bonds
Proposition 3 (Taxes)
Authorizes temporary property tax exemption for disaster areas
Proposition 4 (Taxes)
Prohibits the state from levying an income tax on individuals
Proposition 5 (Budgets)
Dedicates revenue from the sales tax on sporting goods to parks, wildlife, and historical agencies
Proposition 6 (Bonds)
Authorizes the legislature to increase bonds for the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute
Proposition 7 (Budgets)
Increases distributions to the state school fund
Proposition 8 (Budgets)
Creates a Flood Infrastructure Fund
Proposition 9 (Taxes)
Authorizes property tax exemption for precious metals held in depositories
Proposition 10 (Animals)
Allows for transfer of law enforcement animals to handlers or others if in animal's best interest
Local Proposition (Taxes) Bowie County Precints 9, 12, 16 and 17
Emergency Services District #1 Authorizing an increase in the tax rate upon the taxable property in the District from $0.03 per $100 of assessed value to a maximim of $0.10 per $100 of assessed valuation.
