A talented young lady offered a stirring performance to honor mothers with "His Eye Is On the Sparrow" along with a choir full of young people on Mother's Day, May 12, 2019, at Texarkana, Arkansas' Lonoke Baptist Church.
All the young vocalists — but especially the soloist — sing with passion and vigor in a performance that would make Kirk Franklin proud.
The hymn "His Eye is on the Sparrow" was written in 1905 by Civilla D. Martin (lyricist) and Charles H. Gabriel (composer). In 2010, the song as recorded by Gospel legend Mahalia Jackson was awarded with a Grammy Hall of Fame award.
Lonoke Baptist offered a service honoring mothers in a special service on Sunday.
