If you're looking for good, clean drinking water, Texarkana is the place to be.
Since February, water suppliers in the 8 districts of the state of Arkansas have been competing. The announcement was made at the Arkansas Water Works & Water Environment Association (AWW&WEA) Conference in Hot Springs, which is currently being held (from May 1 to May 4, 2022).
Samples were submitted and tested at the AWW&WEA Conference on May 1. This resulted in Texarkana Water Utilities being awarded the "Best Drinking Water" in the State of Arkansas.
Texarkana citizens have been vocal supporters of the high level of service offered by Texarkana Water Utilities and its treatment plants: Wright Patman Water Treatment Plant and Millwood Water Treatment Plant.
The cities of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Texas said they have been working for years to ensure that the drinking water is safe and clean. They constantly test the water to meet all standards set by the EPA and state regulations. They have also been working with the Four States community to educate the public on properly storing tap water so that it does not become contaminated.
Editor's note: The commitment of Texarkana's water professionals is deserving of the highest praise. Thank you to everyone who provides high-quality drinking water to Texarkana, Texas, and Texarkana, Arkansas.
