It is unclear whether the Texarkana Twins will have a 2022 season.
But there has been no official word from the team.
If a 2022 season does not happen, it will be sad news for the many fans of the Twins. May have been patiently waiting and looking forward to a new team lineup after the 2021 season was abandoned due to Covid-19.
On March 2, 2022, Texarkana News reached out to the team management's College Station, Texas office as no one was available on the local team phone number.
We asked about the Texarkana Twins' upcoming season and were told to email Uri Geva, team founder and co-owner. The email was sent three weeks ago. Unfortunately, no return email has been received.
That could mean bad news. Or it could be that a decision has not been made about a 2022 season.
There seems to have been no recent activity on the Twins' social media or on the TexarkanaTwins.com website. But the Twins' sister team, the Brazos Valley Bombers, already has a clock on its website, counting down to the team's next game. That is shown to be 68 days from today (March 24, 2022).
The Texarkana Twins have been an exciting addition to the sports landscape of Texarkana. However, one Twins super-fan said Texarkana fans need to unite to let the team know.
"We want them back - now," he said. "If not, we want to plan early for 2023. The Twins are great for Texarkana and the Four States area."
The Twins are a member of the Texas Collegiate League, which had 10 teams, including Texarkana in 2020.
