Famous McAuliffe family talks about Spring Break vacation day in Texarkana

Mar 25, 2022

Award-winning journalist Ryan McAuliffe, his wife, and three children had a blast when they spent Day 3 of the family's Spring Break vacation in sunny Texarkana, USA.

Ryan created and hosts the popular Texas Bucket List web series. He has always admired storytellers like Charles Kuralt, Ron Stone, Bob Phillips, and Ray Miller. So he created a way to recreate the joy of their broadcasts for a Texas audience.

Although Texas is his focus, the McAuliffe family also found lots to love in Texarkana, Arkansas.

The YouTube video of the family's day shows the kids hopping back and forth over the border between Texas and Arkansas at the famous sign in front of Texarkana's downtown Post Office and federal building.

The McAuliffe family visited the Four States Auto Museum, which showcases the history of automobiles, and they seemed to enjoy getting up close and personal with the vintage vehicles. "It's awesome," Ryan said.

However, the day's highlight for the family's food was a trip to visit their friends at Naaman's Championship BBQ, which the family described as one of their "favorite restaurants" in Texas.

Almost everyone in the Four States area knows why Naaman's napkins are extra thick. They have to be when you indulge in BBQ from the Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational Barbecue competition.

No one from Texarkana will be surprised to learn that the McAuliffe family ended up having a fun-filled day in Texarkana, USA with some delicious food and some new acquaintances along the way.

Maybe we should remind our friends from outside the area to spend a day on their Spring Break or summer vacations - just like the McAuliffe's did.
