A significant donation to Texarkana College came in the form of a big, fat check presented by the generous Texarkana Noon Lions Club.
Club representatives held a ceremony on Wednesday, December 4, in the main lobby of the Nelson Administration Building at the college.
The Texarkana Noon Lions Club worked hard to earn the money that was contributed, and members held a Lions Club raffle so students at TC could have scholarship money.
The money was presented to the TC Foundation and its director Katie Andrus. She said that the foundation was delighted that a hard-working local organization such as the Lions Club understood that some students needed financial help in higher education and that it would assist the community.
"The gift will have a big impact on our students," she added.
The goal of the TC Foundation is to help enhance the academic reputation of Texarkana College, along with providing resources to fund the critical missions of the college.
However, the Lions Club donation will fund another mission of the foundation, which is to help students and create opportunities with affordable and accessible degree programs.
The foundation does essential work and partners with friends, donors, local businesses, other foundations, and alumni to achieve its goals. foundations.
Congrats to the Texarkana Noon Lions Club for their hard work and dedication in making Texarkana, USA a better place to live and work.
