Pleasant Grove graduate Jacob Heminger is doing big things as a Marine in Okinawa, Japan

Texarkana native and U.S. Marine Cpl. Jacob Heminger is doing big things with his essential military duties in Japan.

The former Pleasant Grove football standout who graduated in 2017 is a field artillery cannoneer with 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division.

In the photos, Heminger is backing a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) onto a U.S. Air Force MC-130 during HIMARS Rapid Infiltration (HIRAIN) training on Kadena Air Base in Okinawa on July 16, 2019.

HIRAIN training allows Marines to conduct precision strikes by quickly deploying the HIMARS in and out of combat environments.

All of Heminger's family and friends in Texarkana are proud of his service.

We wish to thank U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Christian Ayers for the photos, including the one below of Jacob Heminger.
